Kampala International University (KIU) proved too strong for debutants Mountain of the Moon University (MMU), winning 4–2 in an entertaining University Football League clash on Thursday.
The Fort Portal Roosters made a dream start when Ahebwa David fired them ahead in the third minute, sending their traveling fans into celebration.
But KIU responded quickly, Doka Arafat equalized in the 13th minute before Ndabirawo Gerald and Kalema Nicholus added two more to give the hosts a 3–1 lead within 21 minutes.
Ahebwa struck again in the 40th minute to give MMU hope, but Ndabirawo’s late goal in the 89th minute sealed the win and his brace for KIU.
While the scoreline favored KIU, MMU once again earned praise for their spirit and resilience as newcomers.
The Roosters now return to Fort Portal with lessons learned and determination to keep their debut campaign alive.
