Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) produced a ruthless second-half display to hammer the University of Kisubi (UNIK) 4–0 on Thursday, climbing to the top of Group A in the University Football League.

After a tense, goalless first half at the MUST playground, the hosts returned with renewed energy and tore through UNIK’s defense in the final half-hour.

Atuhaire Ronald opened the scoring in the 61st minute, pouncing on a rebound after goalkeeper Kizito Amos spilled Ahikiriza’s free kick, a goal that sparked offside protests from the visitors.

In the chaos, Kizito picked up an injury and was replaced by defender-turned-goalkeeper Odoi Livingston, a change that shifted momentum completely in MUST’s favor.

Moments later, Ssebaggala Marvin struck twice,  first with a thunderous long-range effort in the 67th minute and again three minutes later after a neat pass from Nankunda Christopher to make it 3–0.

Substitute Nahurira Halorde added a late header in stoppage time to seal a dominant home victory.

The result lifts MUST to four points after drawing their opener against Kampala International University (KIU), while UNIK remain winless.

Action continues Friday as defending champions Uganda Martyrs University host KIU in Nkozi.
