Ndejje University cruised to a 4-0 win over league debutants King Ceasor University at Buziga Islamic Grounds in Ggaba on Saturday evening, with Joseph Mutaka’s quick brace putting the game beyond doubt.
The Roaring Lions took control early, with Joel Olupot opening the scoring in the 26th minute after heading Davis Musinguzi’s cross at the far post.
Mutaka then doubled the lead in the 32nd minute with a simple tap-in from Morris Nuwamanya before striking again two minutes later, finishing Olupot’s pass to complete a quick brace.
King Ceasor had chances through Ssebuliba Shem and Musinguzi but failed to convert, while goalkeeper Bruno Niyonshuti made crucial saves to keep the clean sheet intact.
Ndejje sealed the win in the 74th minute when Ssemakula Frank met Olupot’s cross to score the fourth.
The victory lifts Ndejje to second place in Group E with eight points from four games, just one behind leaders Makerere University, setting up a crucial final group clash.
University Football League action resumes on Monday, March 9, with Busitema University hosting Nkumba University.
