- Kabale University 1-2 Muteesa I Royal
Muteesa I Royal University maintained their perfect start to the 13th edition of the University Football League with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Kabale University on Monday afternoon in Kabale.

Early goals from Twinamasiko Kenneth and captain Jjunju Eddie secured a third straight win for the “Royal Lions,” who now sit comfortably at the top of Group B with nine points.
Muteesa showed intent right from kickoff. In the 7th minute, Lutwama Ali’s curling free kick found Twinamasiko at the far post for a simple header to make it 1–0.
Kabale hit back just six minutes later when Owonyu Michael punished a defensive lapse with a powerful half-volley to level the score.
But Muteesa quickly regained control. In the 21st minute, Nicholas Ssenyonjo’s well-taken corner found skipper Jjunju, who rose highest to restore the visitors’ lead.
Kabale had a golden chance to equalize again after Owonyu was brought down in the box, but Tayebwa Paddy fired the penalty over the bar, a miss that ultimately defined the contest.
Despite Kabale’s late pressure, Muteesa stayed composed, displaying tactical discipline and defensive resilience to see out the win.
The result makes Muteesa I Royal University the first team this season to win back-to-back away matches, underlining their growing reputation as serious title contenders.
Muteesa’s coach praised his players’ focus and teamwork, while Kabale’s technical bench lamented missed chances, particularly the wasted penalty.
Kabale remain winless after three matches, with only two points to their name.
Action in the University Football League continues on Tuesday as Ndejje University hosts King Ceasor University at the Arena of Vision in Luweero.
