Former champions Uganda Christian University (UCU) stormed back to winning ways with a commanding 6–1 victory over newcomers King Ceasor University (KCU) in the 2025/26 University Football League on Wednesday at the YES Centre in Nsambya.

The 2019 champions were in irresistible form, led by forward Ssekisambu Reagan, who fired the first hat-trick of the season.

Captain Ogola Patrick added a brace, while substitute Nyanzi Haruna also got on the scoresheet as UCU dismantled their inexperienced opponents.

UCU took charge early, with Ssekisambu opening the scoring in the 23rd minute and doubling the lead twelve minutes later to give the Mukono side a comfortable halftime advantage.

In the second half, Ogola made it 3–0 from the penalty spot after Isaac Ofoyrwoth was brought down in the box. Ssekisambu completed his hat-trick six minutes later, finishing off another Ofoyrwoth assist.

Substitute Nyanzi added the fifth in the 73rd minute, before Ogola sealed the rout with a cheeky chip in the 84th.

KCU’s Atusiginire Arnold grabbed a late consolation from the spot in the 88th minute, their first-ever goal in the competition.

The victory marked UCU’s first of the season, bouncing back strongly after an opening-day loss to Ndejje University.

KCU, meanwhile, remain winless after back-to-back defeats, having earlier fallen to Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).

League action continues Thursday with a blockbuster clash between three-time finalists St. Lawrence University (SLAU) and two-time champions Makerere University Business School (MUBS) at Nakivubo Stadium.
