2025/26 University Football League | First Leg | Quarterfinal | Thursday March 26

  • St Lawrence University 2-1 Ndejje University

St Lawrence University did just enough to take a first-leg advantage, edging Ndejje University 2-1 in a spirited quarterfinal clash at Kavule on Thursday.

The hosts struck first in the 22nd minute through Ronnie Ziraba, who finished off a neat move to put St Lawrence ahead. But the lead lasted barely a minute.

Ndejje responded immediately, with Davis Musinguzi tapping in from close range to level the score and stun the home side.

The game settled into a tight contest, both teams showing intent but struggling to fully take control.

St Lawrence, however, found their moment just after the hour mark. Sharafah Mukiibi delivered a precise finish to restore the lead one that ultimately proved decisive.

Ndejje will take confidence from their away goal as they prepare to host the return leg at their Sports Arena next week, while St Lawrence carry a slim but important edge into the second meeting.

In another quarterfinal, Kumi University will host either Nkumba University or YMCA on Sunday, with the final participant to be confirmed by a disciplinary decision due on Friday.
