Wanderers Cricket Club put on a show of power and precision on Saturday, sweeping KC Budo Cricket Club in both UG20 2025 League games at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The Wanderers won the morning clash by eight wickets before sealing the afternoon game with a dominant 83-run victory.
In the first encounter, KC Budo never settled, managing just 106 for 8 in their 20 overs. Ejidra Godfrey (25 off 31) and Gerald Orumo (22 off 10) tried to steady the innings, but Wanderers’ bowlers, led by Raheel Sarwar (4/14) and Abdul Basit Habib (2/8) were relentless.
Chasing the modest target, Wanderers made it look easy, cruising to 108 for 2 in 10.2 overs. Abdul Basit Habib smashed an unbeaten 52 off 24 balls, while Wasim Butt’s quickfire 42 off 25 guided them home comfortably.

The afternoon match was even more brutal. Wanderers piled on 196 for 5, powered by a stunning 91 off 59 balls from Wasim Butt and 66 off 42 from Perry Wazombe. Their 154-run opening stand left KC Budo with no answers.
KC Budo’s reply never got going. Despite a fighting 44 off 33 from Robert Owili, they were bowled out for 113 in 16.2 overs.
Hitesh Prajapti stole the show with 6 wickets for 14 runs, including a hat-trick, while Raheel Sarwar added two more to complete a perfect team performance.
It was a statement day for Wanderers, disciplined with the ball, ruthless with the bat, and clearly a side on a mission.
Meanwhile, at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe, Rounders Cricket Club also completed a double victory, defeating Nile CC by 46 runs in the morning and 16 runs in the afternoon.
Action in the UG20 2025 League continues on Sunday with several exciting fixtures lined up. Tornado Bee take on SKLPS at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, while Ceylon Lions host ACC at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe.
Avengers will battle Jinja SS at the Jinja SSS Cricket Oval, as Kutchi Tigers face Mukono Development at the GM Sugar Cricket Oval.
Elsewhere, Aboojo meet Mukono Warriors at the Serenity Oval in Kamengo, and GM Sugar play KC Budo at the Florida Cricket Oval.
