- Uganda A won by 3 runs
Uganda A held their nerve to beat Namibia A by three runs in a tense finish at the Pearl of Africa T20 Series on Wednesday at Lakeside Oval, Entebbe.
After losing the first game, Uganda A won the toss and opted to bat first thus widening their chances of bouncing back with determination.
Young Anas Baig stood out with a calm 45 off 31 balls, helping the team recover from early setbacks.
Quick runs from Calvin Watuwa (21) and Pius Oloka (12*) pushed Uganda to 127/8 in 20 overs.
Namibia A kept pace in their chase, with Zacheo Jansen (22) and Simon Shikongo (23) steadying the innings.
But Uganda’s bowlers stepped up when it mattered. Kenneth Waiswa claimed three crucial wickets, two in the final overs, to stall Namibia’s momentum.
Needing five off the last ball, Namibia could only manage one, ending at 124/7.
Matthew Musinguzi (1/14) and Siraje Nsubuga (1/21) offered solid support, but it was Waiswa’s clutch 3/28 that sealed the win.
The result levelled the two-match series and gave Uganda A a strong, fighting finish.
