Uganda Africa Aquatic Zone 3 champions return home

Kansai Plascon powered Uganda Swimming National Team painted the 9th Africa Aquatics Zone 3 Championship with 3,934 points to clinch the overall title.

Held at the Piscine Universitaire de Kiriri Pool in Bujumbura, Burundi, the Pearl of Africa defended the championship. Uganda’s girls’ team contributed 1,921 points, while the boys’ team added 1,877 points.

The 2022 champions, Tanzania who finished in second place with 3,658.50 points, put in a solid chase but all in vain.

The team from the Savannah land had 1,642.50 points from the girls and 1,856 points from the boys to occupy the second position.

Other neighbours in Kenya completed the podium with third place overall thanks to their 3,201.50 points from the championship.

Still, the girls shone brightest (read Twaake) with 1,584.50 points while the boys only managed 1,489 points. Host Burundi finished fourth with 2,942 points.

The champions, Uganda now have four titles having won in 2015, 2021, and 2023. A total of 75 swimmers made it possible again, congratulations!
