Uganda’s U-15 coach Hamuza Lutalo has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to defeat Ethiopia in their final group stage match of the CECAFA U-15 Championship.
The two sides will meet on Friday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, Buikwe district.
“We have prepared well. Ethiopia is a good team and we have faced them before in CECAFA competitions.”
“But we will try our best to win. We only have two injured players, but we will perform to our best,” Lutalo said.
Uganda comes into the game after beating South Sudan 3-0 and Djibouti 15-0 in their previous encounters, while Ethiopia settled for a 1-1 draw against South Sudan before thrashing Djibouti 8-1.
Uganda Rhinos captain Abubakali Walusimbi and Enock Bagenda will be key players for Uganda, while Ethiopia will look to Mesfin Basa, Yihun Gebremariam, and Muetesimbillah Waleliga for inspiration.
Uganda tops Group A with six points from two games, followed by Ethiopia with four points, South Sudan with one point, and Djibouti with no points.
