Uganda Aquatic Team off to Singapore for World Championship

The Uganda Aquatic Team is off to Singapore for the 2025 World Aquatic Championships.

The team has six members representing Uganda at the biggest Aquatics Championship.

Out of the six, Swagia Mubiru and Benjamin Lutaaya will contest for open water in the 5km race between July 15th and 20th.

Four other swimmers including captain Tendo Mukalazi, Kirabo Namutebi, Gloria Muzito and Jesse Ssengonzi will participate in pool events from July 27th to August 3rd.

The four will take part in (50m & 100m Freestyle), (50m & 100m Butterfly) and relay.

During a flag off event held at NCS Offices in Lugogo on 12th July 2025, team Captain Tendo Mukalazi backed his team to perform in the championship.

“We have had enough preps for the championship, coaches have prepared the team well and we are ready to put on high performances during the World Championship.”

The team is under coach Abel Damulira for the entire 22nd World Aquatic Championship.
