Uganda Christian University (UCU) is poised to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the University Football League when they face Kumi University in match day five of group D on Wednesday.
The Cardinals, currently at the top of the group with ten points, are determined to maintain their winning streak and advance to the next stage of the competition.
UCU coach Collins Ahumuza has urged her players to elevate their performance and channel their strengths to achieve victory.
“We’re not underestimating our opponents, but we’re confident in our abilities,” Ahumuza stated. “We’ve been training hard and are ready to face any challenge.”
Ahumuza expressed her expectations for an improved performance following their draw against KIU in the previous match. “We expect better results from this game,” she emphasized.
On the other hand, Kumi University, despite being at the bottom of the table with two points, is determined to cause an upset. Coach John Opam recognizes the challenge ahead but remains optimistic about his team’s capabilities.
“UCU is a strong team, but we’ve been improving with each game,” Opam said. “We believe we can surprise them and secure a positive outcome.”
