Uganda Christian University (UCU) is aiming to end the University Football league group stage on a high note with a resounding victory when they take on Busitema on Sunday at 3PM.

The Mukono-based team, which drew 2-2 and 1-1 against Kumi and Kampala International University (KIU) in their previous matches, is eager to regain their winning form.

UCU, having already secured a spot in the quarterfinals, is determined to make a statement, according to coach Collins Ahumuza.

“In our previous games, we didn’t play well, although we had many injuries that affected our performance. We want to win this game to boost our morale ahead of the quarterfinals. We know we’re away, but we’ll give it our all to meet expectations,” Ahumuza remarked.

UCU thrashed Busitema 7-1 in the first leg in Mukono, but Busitema will be looking for revenge.

The former champions, who won the title in 2019, are determined to improve on their performance from last season when they finished third.

They currently lead Group D with 11 points, followed by KIU with seven points, while Busitema and Kumi are third and fourth on five and three points, respectively.

In the other group match, Kumi will host KIU.
