The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has relieved Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Sredojevic and his entire Technical team of their duties.
The decision was made on Thursday, September 14, 2023, following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a statement, FUFA said that it had “mutually agreed to end the existing employment contract” with Sredojevic.
The federation thanked the Serbian coach for his “efforts and commitment” during his time with the team.

Sredojevic was appointed Uganda Cranes coach in 2013 and led the team to the 2017 AFCON finals, their first appearance in the tournament in 39 years.
He was reappointed in 2021, but the team failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 AFCON. He was in charge of 17 competitive games winning 7, drawing 5, and losing 5.
FUFA said that it would start the search for a new coach immediately. The team is expected to begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in November 2023.
