Roger Mukasa and Kenneth Waiswa both picked up the Player of the Match awards on Thursday as Uganda beat both Rwanda and Tanzania at the East Africa Trophy T20 Cup.
Uganda first took on Rwanda in the morning and it was Mukasa who bagged the accolade in that game as the Cricket Cranes beat Rwanda by 86 runs.

Mukasa hit 89 in Uganda’s innings where he notched 12 fours. The support for Uganda’s all-time top run scorer came from Alpesh Ramjani (32), Simon Ssesazi (23), Ronald Lutaya (20) and Brian Masaba (10).
But Ramjani and Siraje Nsubuga were the leaders in wicket taking in this game. The duo each picked 3 while Waiswa got 2. Each of Henry Senyondo and Masaba picked one.
The Tanzanian game was all about Waiswa. While Sessazi got his second half century of the tournament (60), Waiswa was top both with the ball and bat, and for the third time in this competition, he earned the Player of the Match award.
The 24-year-old first scored 66 not out before picking three wickets for the Cricket Cranes who beat Tanzania by 60 runs.
Bilal Hassun was also deadly with the ball. He got three as well. With the bat, Ronak Patel recorded 30 runs off 27.
The two victories were Uganda’s fourth and fifth. They remain top of the table, and will return to action tomorrow against Tanzania.
