Uganda Cricket Cranes Crowned East Africa Trophy T20 Cup Champions

Uganda Cricket Cranes were crowned the champions of the East Africa Trophy T20 Cup after almost going unbeaten in the competition.

Following their 8 wicket win over Rwanda earlier today, the Cricket Cranes finish with 11 wins.

Laurence Mahatlane‘s team won all but one game that they lost to Tanzania on match day two.

They finish the competition with 11 wins out of the possible 12 and retain the trophy they won last year.

Not only did the Cricket Cranes lift the trophy, they also dominated the individual awards.

Alpesh Ramjani was named the best bowler of the tournament having picked 25 wickets, the highest by any individual.

Ramjani was closely followed by his teammate Kenneth Waiswa who finished second in the bowling field with 20 wickets.

The best wicket keeper of the tourney was Cyrus Kakuru who finishes with 14 dismissals including 5 stampings.

Tanzania’s Amal Rajeevan was the king of the bat with 363 runs, but Uganda had six players in the top ten.

Simon Sessazi (337), Roger Mukasa (318), Ramjani (239), Ronak Patel (234), Ronald Lutaya (209) and Waiswa (202) came 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th respectively.
