Cricket Cranes coach, Jackson Ogwanga is adamant his team’s performance during their warm up games that concluded on Sunday in Zimbabwe was fulfilling.
Uganda wrapped up their tour of Zimbabwe on Sunday with a 41-run win over Takashinga who they had beaten thrice in the series before Sunday’s encounter.
Before Sunday’s game, Uganda also played against Zimbabwe’s U25 select team. They won one against the side and lost as many meaning they depart Harare with five wins.
As they leave for Namibia for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers, Ogwang says his troops are in confident mood for the big one.
“We are happy for what we’ve managed to achieve here in Zimbabwe,” Ogwang echoed.
“Our combinations have worked out, we’ve tried out a few players who have gotten chances to bat, bowl against players from a Test playing nation.”
“I think we’ve done well here. We have done our processes well and we know the combinations that will work for us starting next week.”
Ogwang’s confidence can be attributed to the fact that a number of his players seem to have picked up form at the right time.
Bilal Hassun, Ronak Patel, Robinson Obuya, Dinesh Nakrani all looked good during the warm up games, but can they transfer this form to the Qualifiers?
Uganda open their campaign against Tanzania on Wednesday before meeting the highest ranked team in this competition, Zimbabwe on Thursday in their second game.
