Uganda secured their third victory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers ongoing in Windhoek, Namibia with a 9-wicket win over Nigeria on Monday.

Dinesh Nakrani and Ronak Patel were particularly impressive as the Cricket Cranes followed their history making win against Zimbabwe on Sunday with this victory.

Nakrani bundled out three to help Uganda restrict Nigeria to just 99 while Ronak with his 60 not out ensured the chase was over in the eighteenth Over.

Bilal Hassun (2), Alpesh Ramjani (2) and Henry Ssenyondo also had their names in the wicket column as Nigeria got bowled out while Roger Mukasa with 28 provided a perfect partner to Ronak.

The win means the senior team is closer to a maiden World Cup appearance. All they have to do is win their remaining two games to earn their ticket to the World Cup for the first time ever.

The Cricket Cranes will take a break on Tuesday and return to action on Wednesday with another crunch tie against bitter rivals Kenya.

Uganda will then end their campaign against Rwanda on Thursday.

Jackson Ogwang‘s team is now second in the table standings after ousting Kenya with a superior run rate.
