The Final Draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2025, has been conducted, and Uganda finds itself in a challenging Group A.
The draw, which took place on Thursday, February 13, in Cairo, placed Uganda alongside tournament hosts Morocco, regional rivals Tanzania, and Zambia.
As hosts, Morocco was automatically assigned to position A1 in Group A.

Uganda, making their first-ever appearance in the U17 continental tournament, will have a tough road ahead as they seek to advance past the group stage.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals and, more importantly, book a place at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.
The competition is scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 30 to April 19, 2025. A record 10 African nations will secure qualification for the expanded 48-team FIFA U17 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November 5 to 27, 2025.
Uganda Cubs earned their place in this prestigious tournament by showcasing an impressive performance in the CECAFA Qualifiers.
They defeated Somalia in the semifinals to secure qualification and then staged a remarkable comeback to beat Tanzania 2-1 in the final, clinching the regional title.
This qualification marks a historic moment for Uganda, as they make their official tournament debut at this level although they had qualified for the 2021 edition which was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
