2026 Uganda Cup | Friday March 20 | R16
- Express FC 4-0 Red Devo FC
The quarterfinal line up of this year’s Plascon co-sponsored Uganda Cup is complete after Express Football Club produced a commanding performance under the lights on Friday night.
The Red Eagles swept aside Red Devo 4-0 in the final Round of 16 match at Hamz Stadium, sealing the last spot in the quarterfinals.
Henry Wamala set the tone, finishing off Blanchar Mulamba’s low cross in the 38th minute to give Express a deserved lead before the break. The hosts then turned dominance into goals late in the game.
Substitute Kenneth Kimera, a January loan signing, struck twice in quick succession in the 88th and 89th minutes to put the result beyond doubt. Herbert Assimwe, also off the bench, added a fourth in stoppage time to cap a clinical display.
Express now joins holders Vipers SC, Kampala Capital City Authority FC, URA FC, Kitara FC, Happy Boys Kagaba, NEC FC and SC Villa in the last eight.
Earlier, URA had eased past Tapoh FC 3-0 at the same venue, with goals from Nyarwa, Moses Aliro and substitute Godfrey Ssekibengo.
The quarterfinal draw will be conducted in the coming days by the FUFA Competition Department.
With a place in the CAF Confederation Cup on the line, the race for the trophy now shifts into its decisive stage.
