Vipers SC will be keen on picking a third Stanbic Uganda Cup when we tussle it out with FUFA Big League outfit, Police FC at the Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

It’s also a third consecutive final for the Venoms who triumphed and lost one apiece in the past two years against BUL FC on both occasions.

“I am lucky I’ve played six Cup finals and won four of them, and tomorrow I’m going for a fifth one,” said Vipers head coach Alex Isabirye to the press on Friday.

“Luckily, we also have a group of players who are players, we’ve been together for about three months but it looks like two seasons,” he added.

“They know what to do, they’re are obedient, are tactical and they have made my job easy.”

To make the final, they eliminated Soltilo Bright Stars in the semi-finals, courtesy of a 4-1 aggregate victory.

That was after they had dumped out Wakiso Giants FC after post-match penalties, following a one-all stalemate after full-time.

In the preceding rounds, Vipers had sailed past each of Jinja North United and Bujumbura United, via penalties for both matches.

“I’m not saying that we are going to have an easy game tomorrow, the coach of Police (Angelo Lonyesi) has been in the job for over 35 years, so it will be a tough game,” noted Isabirye.

“Police has very experienced players but we’re ready, I trust my players and coaches and they’ll do everything to win the game.”

Isabirye’s charges are on the road to making our first-ever domestic double, having already sealed the Uganda Premier League title, a week back.
