Ondurapaka’s long road trip from Arua ended in celebration as the Catarpillars booked a place in the Round of 32 of the 2026 Uganda Cup with a hard earned 3–1 away win over Kabale City on Sunday.

Arriving at Kabale Municipal Stadium after a 720-kilometre journey and with only 11 players available, Ondurapaka showed grit and composure beyond the circumstances.

Goals from Jimmy Pirio, Jonathan Mungufeni and Michael Kedi stunned the Western Regional League hosts, with Abton Niwamanya grabbing a late consolation for Kabale City.

The victory marked Ondurapaka’s first away win in the competition in two seasons and showed their resilience.

Earlier, Amus College School emerged as one of the round’s standout stories after a confident 2–0 victory over FUFA Big League side Kiyinda Boys.

Playing in the Eastern Regional League, Amus showed no fear against higher-ranked opposition.

Lucky Wanyama set the tone early, lifting a delicate finish over the goalkeeper in the ninth minute.

Kiyinda pressed for an equaliser, but Amus stayed organised and sealed the win deep into stoppage time when Mudashir Ijosiga fired home from close range.

Elsewhere, Iganga United edged Bwizibwera 2–1, while Blacks Power claimed a similar scoreline against Bumate United.

Happy Boys advanced on penalties after a 2–2 draw with Kagaba Young Elephants Academy, winning the shootout 3–1.

Kumi United knocked out FUFA Big League side CATDA 4–3 on penalties following a 1–1 draw, while Kuluva Rainbow and Red Devo also progressed via spot kicks.

The Round of 64 continues on Monday as Football Classroom face Calvary at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, before Garuga Stars host Big League outfit Kataka on Tuesday.

With the Stanbic Uganda Cup winner earning a place in the CAF Confederation Cup, and two Round of 64 ties still to be played before the draw for the last 32, the Plascon Uganda co-sponsored tournament is already delivering its trademark drama.
