Uganda Cup football is back, bringing with it the magic and uncertainty that only knockout football can offer.

The draw for the 52nd edition has set the stage for a nationwide battle for silverware, with Round of 64 matches scheduled between February 4 and 10, 2026.

The draw was held on Tuesday morning at the Protea Hotel in Kampala and conducted by FUFA officials, including Umar Ssenoga in the presence of FUFA competitions committee manager Hajjati Aisha Nalule and FUFA 3rd Vice President Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.

The ceremony marked the official return of one of Uganda’s most cherished football competitions.

This year’s tournament boasts a total prize fund of UGX 180 million, with the eventual winner earning UGX 50 million. Past champions such as Express FC and KCCA FC highlight the prestige attached to the trophy.

In keeping with tradition, regional league teams will host Uganda Premier League and Big League opponents at this stage. FUFA officials urged host clubs to ensure proper organisation and safe playing conditions as the competition stretches across the country.

The draw produced several eye-catching ties. Uganda Premier League leaders Vipers SC travel to Lira to face Northern Gateway FC, while seven-time winners Express FC head to West Nile to take on Pakwach Youngsters.

Record holders SC Villa will visit Palisa Hospital FC, and KCCA FC begin their campaign away to St George Masindi FC. BUL FC face a long journey to Kotido to meet Agape United, while URA FC travel north to play Patongo United of Agago.

Elsewhere, historic Nsambya SC host UPDF FC at the Yes Centre, Maroons FC visit Paidha United in Zombo, and two-time winners Mbale Heroes travel to face Six O’clock FC.

Kitara FC take on Obule Earth Quakes in Soroti, Wakiso Giants head to Kisoro to face Mutorele SC, Police FC visit Mairye United in Luweero, and NEC FC face Mabira Town Council FC in Kasese.

From Arua to Busia and Kabale to Koboko, the Round of 64 reflects the true spirit of the Uganda Cup, a competition where status means little and every match carries the promise of an upset.
