- URA FC 3-0 Tapoh FC
URA Football Club comfortably beat Tapoh Football Club 3-0 to reach the quarterfinals of the 52nd Plascon co-sponsored Uganda Cup on Friday at Hamz Stadium.
URA controlled the game from the start and created early chances, with Olimi Nyarwa testing goalkeeper Ismail Ajaru inside the opening minutes.
Tapoh nearly shocked the hosts, but James Begisa cleared off the line to keep the score level.
The breakthrough came in the 33rd minute when Nyarwa curled in a superb effort from the left to give URA the lead at halftime.
URA stayed in control after the break. Captain Moses Aliro made it 2-0 in the 65th minute with a shot that took a heavy deflection past Ajaru.
Substitute Godfrey Ssekibengo sealed the win late on, firing in a powerful volley from distance to put the result beyond doubt.
Tapoh showed fight but could not match URA’s quality, with their goalkeeper kept busy throughout the match.
The win sends URA into the last eight alongside holders Vipers SC, KCCA FC, Kitara FC, SC Villa, NEC FC and Happy Boyz Kagaba.
