  • SC Villa (4)2-2(3) BUL FC

On a cool night out at the FUFA Stadium Kadiba, SC Villa held their nerve to beat BUL FC 4–3 on penalties and reach the Round of 16 of the 52nd Uganda Cup.

It was a contest full of swings. Villa made the perfect start. Two minutes in, they won a penalty and Reagan Mpande calmly converted to give the hosts an early lead.

The goal sparked an intense, physical battle. Richard Okello and Karim Ndugwa were cautioned as tempers rose while BUL slowly grew into the game, testing Villa’s defence with set pieces.

Their pressure paid off just before halftime. In the 44th minute, Reagan Kalyowa powered in a header to level the match at 1–1.

BUL carried that momentum into the second half. Two minutes after the restart, Okello fired them ahead to make it 2–1, turning the game around.

But Villa responded. In the 63rd minute, Patrick Kakande finished a flowing move to restore parity at 2–2.

From there, it became open and tense. Thomas Ikara produced a fine save to deny Andrew Otim, while Villa goalkeeper Lukwago stood firm at the other end.

With neither side able to find a winner, the match went to penalties. Villa kept their composure, converting four spot kicks.

BUL missed once too often, and the shootout ended 4–3 in favour of the Jogoos, sparking celebrations at Kadiba.

Villa now join fellow Uganda Premier League sides KCCA FCVipers SCURA FC and Express FC in the Round of 16.

Elsewhere, Onduparaka FC and Red Devo also progressed.
