Ugandaโs young table tennis stars are chasing a strong finish at the 2025 ITTF Festival of Table Tennis in Lagos, Nigeria.
With six medals already secured three golds, one silver, and two bronzes and several players still in the hunt, the team heads into the final day full of confidence.
Uganda started brightly, winning both boysโ and girlsโ titles at the Africa Hopes Week and Challenge. The momentum carried into the African Youth Championships, where they added four more medals.
Now focus shifts to the last leg, the inaugural ITTF Africa Youth Cup where Ugandan players have reached the quarterfinals.
Joseph Sebatindira faces Algeriaโs Goudjil Aylan, while Shariff Nsereko looks to keep his run going against Chadโs Putola Tidiane, having earlier avenged his loss to Algeriaโs Zouitene Bilel.
Thereโs also an all-Ugandan quarterfinal between Jemimah Nakawala and Patience Anyango, set for 11:30 AM (EAT), while Parvin Judith Nangonzi takes on Nigerian favorite Ojo Favour in the U19 girlsโ singles.
The team, coached by Alvin Katumba and Tendo Balyewunya, features seven young talents including Patra Nasirumbi and Ibrahim Mutesasira, all flying Ugandaโs flag with pride.
