Uganda’s women’s table tennis team will step onto the global stage this April when they compete at the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2026 in London.

Drawn in Group 6, Uganda will face India, Ukraine, and Rwanda in a pool that offers little room for error but plenty of opportunity.

It is a demanding group, mixing Asian strength, European experience, and a familiar regional rival.

The Uganda–Rwanda clash adds extra meaning. Beyond group points, it will be a test of how far East African table tennis has grown, played out on one of the sport’s biggest platforms.

The championships run from April 28 to May 10 and will be hosted at the OVO Arena Wembley and the Copper Box Arena.

The event also marks 100 years of the International Table Tennis Federation, giving the tournament added weight and history.

Uganda’s presence in London reflects steady progress in the women’s game. While expectations will be measured, the experience of facing established nations like India and Ukraine offers valuable lessons and a chance to test belief at the highest level.

Africa will be well represented, with countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Angola, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Egypt, South Africa, and Congo Democratic also in the draw, showing the continent’s growing footprint in world table tennis.
