Uganda (St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende) came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with hosts Zimbabwe in Group A of the 2026 CAF African Schools Championship at Gateway High School on Easter Monday.

Zimbabwe opened the scoring early in the second half through Moses Maremudze, but Uganda responded five minutes later with Bashir Edema’s equalizer.
Uganda head coach Hassan Zzungu was frustrated by missed chances. “The game was disappointing. We created many chances but scored only once, while our opponents scored from their only opportunity,” he said.
Still, Zzungu remained positive about the point. “A point is not bad. We will build on this as we look to tomorrow’s games,” he added.
Team Uganda faces a busy Tuesday, taking on the Democratic Republic of Congo before their clash with Morocco.
