In a gathering that underscored unity, ambition, and transformation, the Uganda Ludo Federation (ULF) convened its 23rd National General Assembly at the Nansana Municipality Headquarters.

With approximately 150 attendees from across the country, ranging from district representatives to coaches, referees, trustees, media members and other stakeholders, the event marked a defining moment in the Federation’s evolution.

Presided over by Federation President Mr. Kalule Hussein, the Assembly was a blend of reflection, strategy, and decisive action.

The meeting opened with an acknowledgement of the Federation’s grassroots growth and the growing popularity of Ludo as a competitive sport across Uganda’s 40 represented districts.

But it was not merely a celebration; it was a working session that yielded major resolutions aimed at repositioning ULF for greater impact and sustainability.

Among the most significant outcomes of the Assembly was the adoption of a revised Constitution, meticulously updated to align with the recently enacted National Sports Act, 2023, and the newly introduced National Sports Regulations, 2025.

This critical reform ensures the Federation remains in step with national legal frameworks and positions it for smoother engagement with government bodies and partners.

In a move that reflects confidence in current leadership and a desire for continuity, the Assembly also voted to extend the current term of office by two years.

Delegates agreed that stability at the top would be instrumental in achieving the Federation’s ambitious goals.

In addition, President Kalule Hussein was granted full authority to reshuffle the National Executive Committee (NEC) as he deems necessary to improve leadership efficiency.

The decision was met with applause, signaling widespread trust in his vision and stewardship.
Looking ahead, the Assembly approved a robust calendar of activities and an action plan for the 2025/2026 sporting year, signaling a well-planned approach to Ludo development at local and national levels.

Furthermore, a Federation budget of UGX 1,032,500,000 for the fiscal year 2025/2026 was unanimously passed, an impressive show of consensus and forward planning.

Perhaps the most urgent matter addressed was the Federation’s compliance with the government’s re-registration requirements.

With a looming deadline of June 20th, 2025, the Assembly resolved to mobilize collective financial contributions from its members and partners to meet this target.

With its revised constitution, extended leadership term, renewed executive mandate, and ambitious financial and programmatic plans, the Uganda Ludo Federation has positioned itself as a beacon of organized sports administration.

More than just rolling dice on a board, ULF is rolling out a vision, one where Ludo becomes a powerful tool for community engagement, youth empowerment and national pride.
