Uganda Martyrs secured their first win of the season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Rines SS WFC at home on Saturday morning.

Auki headed home the opener from Sharon Kanyiginya‘s corner in the early stages of the game, before Kanyiginya doubled the lead with a stunning free kick before halftime.

Shamusa Najjuma sealed the win for the Kiddawalimes in the second half with a third goal.

Rines SS WFC were unable to find a way back into the game and suffered their second consecutive defeat of the season.

Uganda Martyrs will now visit Lady Doves on 4th November, while Rines SS WFC will welcome She Makerere at Kabaka Kyabagu the following day.

In the other game of the day, Wakiso Hill WFC needed a late equalizer from Sylivia Namiwanda to share spoils with She Maroons in a game full of wasted chances.

She Maroons dominated the first half but failed to break the deadlock. In the 67th minute, Jackline Odong gave the hosts the lead following Nassimbwa’s cross.

However, Wakiso Hill equalized through Namiwanda‘s strike with just five minutes remaining on the clock.

The result leaves She Maroons on top of the table with four points, while Wakiso Hill earn their first point of the season.

In the next round of fixtures, She Maroons will host Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on 4th November, while Wakiso Hill will welcome Asubo Ladies FC on the same day.

Matchday two will continue tomorrow with three games as defending champions Kampala Queens FC visit She Makerere, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC welcome UCU Lady Cardinals, and Lady Doves face Asubo Ladies at Kampala Quality ground.
