Defending champions Kampala Queens FC will be visiting Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC on Saturday evening at St Gerald Stadium on match day 14 of FUFA Women Super League.

Coming into this game, Uganda Martyrs sits fourth on the log with 19 points while Kampala Queens are second with 25 points, only 3 points behind table leaders Kawempe Muslim.

After two back to back draws, Kampala Queens will be seeking to get back to winning ways against a side over which they boast a dominant record.

This will be the seventh meeting between the two sides in the FUFA Women Super League and Kampala Queens have won four times and the other two encounters have ended in a draw.

In the first leg, Kampala Queens edged Uganda Martyrs 2-1 with forward Catherine Nagadya scoring the winning goal against her former side.

Team News

Kampala Queens will be without head coach Charles Ayiekoh Lukula who’s in charge of Uganda U16 women’s national team in Turkey and his assistant Ali Zzinda will be responsible for the team this evening.

Speaking to the media, Zzinda was optimistic that his side will fight hard to get positive results.

”We have failed to win in our last two league games, but we have worked extremly hard to improve on our weaknesses especially converting chances and I believe, the team will pick the three points in Lubaga,” said confident Zzinda.

New signing Merceline Wayodi is expected to make her full debut for the Queens, while Uganda Martyrs welcome back defender Auki Kigongo from suspension.

Kampala Queens will continue to miss the services of defender Sumaya Komuntale and striker Elizabeth Nakigozi who are long term injury absentees. For Uganda Martyrs Moureen Kiiza is a doub for this encounter.
