The Uganda U-18 Women’s National Team will be back in action on Thursday, July 27, 2023, against Zanzibar in the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship.

The match will be played at 3pm at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

In their opening match of the tournament, Uganda earned a slim 1-0 win over rivals Ethiopia, thanks to Allen Nassazi‘s second-half goal.

Uganda sits second behind Tanzania with two goals separating two sides. Tanzania edged Burundi 3-0 in the opener to go on top.

After the last training at Uhuru stadium, coach Ayub Khalifah has emphasized the importance of scoring goals in the upcoming match against Zanzibar.

“We have had our recovery and last training and our emphasis was on correcting our mistakes from the previous game and to sharpen our strikers to score many goals,” he said.

Uganda will need to score a lot of goals in order to go on top of the standings.

They will also be hoping for a favorable result in the match between Tanzania and Ethiopia, which will be played later at 6pm, at the Azam Complex.

The CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship is a round-robin tournament, with the team with the most points at the end of the tournament being crowned champions.
