Uganda’s U-15 national team is one step away from defending the CECAFA U-15 Championship title after defeating Tanzania 2-1 in the semi-finals on Monday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, Buikwe district.
Captain Abubakali Walusimbi gave Uganda the lead in the 12th minute, and Samuel Mubiru doubled it towards the end of the first half.
In the second half, Uganda failed to capitalize on their chances, but Tanzania scored a consolation goal through Feisal Juma in the 83rd minute.

Coach Hamuza Lutalo praised his players for their efforts.”It was not an easy game, but we managed to live up to our expectations,” Lutalo said.
“We are going back to try and see how we can improve before the final. But I also liked the character of the players.”
Uganda will take on Zanzibar in the final on Friday. Zanzibar beat South Sudan 4-2 in penalties after a 1-1 draw in the other semi-final.
