Uganda Prisons Netball Club Dominates Zima Moto in East African Championship

Uganda Prisons Netball Club secured their third consecutive win against Zima Moto from Zanzibar, cementing their position as a force to be reckoned with in the ongoing East African Netball Club Championship.

The match saw Prisons take control from the first quarter, leading 17-9, and they never looked back. By halftime, they had extended their lead to 40-15, and by the final whistle, they had secured a resounding 73-26 victory.

The star-studded lineup, featuring Malisera Akello, Asingo Viola, Ruth Meeme, Tausi Mumena, Hadijja Nakabuye, Joyce Nakibule, and Sandra Namutebi, proved unstoppable.

The team’s cohesion and strategy were evident throughout the game, with each player bringing their unique strengths to the court at National Stadium Court B.

Substitutes Mary Divota Asio, Christine Namulumba Kango, Stella Nanfuka, Sylvia Nanyonga Tabia, and Dorothy also made positive contributions, showcasing the team’s depth.

Goal Shooters Christine Namulumba Kango, Sandra Namutebi, and Coach Player Ruth Meeme were standout performers, regularly impressing with their speed, and agility.

Prisons’ head of Technical, Ms. Imelda Nyongesa praised the team’s consistency and hard work, saying, “I’m thrilled with the team’s performance. They’ve put in the effort, and it’s paying off. We’re looking forward to the next challenge.”

With this win, Prisons Netball Club continues their unbeaten streak, solidifying their position as top contenders for the title.
