The 10th edition of the Uganda Seniors Golf Open has been officially launched, ushering in a weekend of competition set for December 6–7, 2025, at the Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.
The tournament has become a signature event during International Aviation Week, celebrated worldwide from December 1–7.
In Uganda, the Seniors Golf Open continues to stand out as a key activity honouring the aviation industry’s contributions.

This year marks a decade of partnership between the seniors and the Civil Aviation Authority, which renewed its support with a UGX 15 million contribution toward the event.
Officials said the gesture reflects a shared commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles among senior citizens.
Uganda Seniors Golf Association Chairman David Balaka highlighted golf’s value in keeping older adults physically and mentally sharp. He praised the Uganda Seniors Golfing Society for building a strong, vibrant community of veteran golfers.
The association brings together more than 200 golfers aged 55 and above from all regions of the country.
Its annual calendar features four regional events, western, northern, eastern, and central culminating in the grand Seniors Open every December at Uganda Golf Club.
Balaka described the group as a determined team working hard to keep senior golfers active and competitive.
“Golf has evolved over the years. It was once seen as a game for the elderly, but young people have embraced it too. Still, it’s important that older golfers stay in the game, not just to compete, but for exercise and well-being,” he said.
He also thanked Uganda Golf Club for consistently hosting the event and the sponsors who continue to fuel its growth.
Director General Tim Wolf officially launched the tournament after the press briefing, marking the start of this special 10th anniversary edition.
The competition tees off this weekend, bringing together senior golfers from across the country for two days of camaraderie, celebration, and spirited play.
There will be rewards (trophies, plaques, golf balls, bags, hampers, vouchers and other goodies) to the excelling golfers across the various age groups in the silver, bronze and platinum clusters.
