Michael Nuwagaba, the Chairman of Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), on Saturday announced that Uganda will host a quadrangular Series in April as they continue preparations for their maiden appearance at the World Cup.
Nuwagaba made this announcement during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Kati Kati Restaurant.
UCA has a running partnership with a few counties including Qatar and Namibia, but instead of making trips to the aforementioned nations, Nuwagaba says it should be the other way round as the association seeks to lessen expenditures termed as high performance expenses.

This particular Series will feature Netherlands, Nepal and Namibia, three of the 20 sides that will feature at this year’s World Cup in West Indies and the United States.
It will be an opportunity for the Cricket Cranes to gauge themselves against World Cup material. As the host nation, it will also be an opportunity for Uganda to put together positive results as they prepare for June.
The Cricket Cranes in their preparation for the global showpiece have had it rough, losing seven games in India and all eight in Sri Lanka, but this tournament should give them a chance to record confidence-boosting results ahead of the World Cup.
The three will serve as a real test compared to tours in Asia.
Netherlands and Nepal are placed in Group D of the World Cup alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa, while Namibia is in Group B alongside Australia, England, Scotland and Oman.
Uganda will face PNG, Afghanistan, New Zealand and co-hosts West Indies in Group C.
Before that tournament though, Uganda will be among eight nations that will debut cricket at the Africa Games in March in Ghana. The Cricket Cranes are placed in Group A alongside Kenya, South Africa and the hosts.
They open that campaign against rivals Kenya on 17th March.
