The CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship kicks off on Sunday, November 25th, with Uganda facing Tanzania in their opening match.
The tournament will run until December 9th, with matches taking place in the towns of Kisumu and Kakamega, in Kenya.
Uganda is placed in Group B alongside Zanzibar, Tanzania, and South Sudan, and will play all their matches in Kakamega. The other Group B match on Sunday will see Zanzibar take on South Sudan.
In Group A, Kenya will open the championship against Sudan on Saturday in Kisumu, while Somalia will face Rwanda in the other Group A match.
CECAFA Competitions Director Yussuf Mossi highlighted the importance of the tournament in preparing teams for the AFCON U-20 Zonal qualifiers next year.
“It’s a great platform for the youngsters and the technical teams to test their squads,” Mossi stated.
The semi-finals will take place on December 5th, with all subsequent matches, including the final, being played in Kisumu.
