Uganda Volleyball acquired extended coaching capacity with former player Cisy Musiime Byabaraire becoming the fifth Ugandan to acquire a Level 3 certificate.
Musiime, who played Volleyball for over 20 years, sustained the top coaching certificate from the University of Delaware, a United States-based institution.
Musiime joined Moffat Masaba, Tom Mutebi, Tony Lakony and Omuriwe Shilla Buyungo, the first and only FIVB Instructor from Uganda and the only lady who secured the certificate before Musiime.
After becoming the second lady to hold the top volleyball coaching certificate in the world, Musime saw her dreams coming true.
“It has been a long journey that started a long time ago. I started as a player, to become a Uganda Volleyball Federation board member, and now to this. All the time, I am dreaming of inspiring women into sports, and now I am earning more value in doing what I am dreaming of.”
The course where Musiime went for the certificate had 40 Global beneficiaries, with only four Africans and only one Ugandan.
The program was an International Olympic Committee under Olympic Solidarity in partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and the graduation was held at IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, on April 30th.
