Ugandan Female Players Abroad: How Crested Cranes Players Performed

following a failed Women’s African Cup of Nations Qualifiers, several Crested Cranes players were in action over the weekend at their respective clubs.

1- Phionna Nabbumba
Crested Cranes and B93 Boldklubben midfielder started on the bench before she was introduced in the 70th minute as her team B93 Boldklubben beat Østerbro 2-0 to register a fifth win in 7 games and they’re still unbeaten.

B93 Boldklubben is second on the table with the same points (17) as table leader Odense Q and only goal difference separating them. B93 Boldklubben will visit Varde on Saturday 7th October in their next game.

2- Fauzia Najjemba
Fresh from 2024 WAFCON qualifiers with Uganda, forward Najjemba scored the equalizer in the 70th minute and assisted twice as her team WFC Dynamo Moscow came from behind to beat WFC Chertanovo 3-2.

Najjemba’s WFC Dynamo Moscow are fourth on the table, 19 points behind table leaders CSKA.

3- Juliet Nalukenge
Goal poacher Nalukenge returned from an injury and she started on the bench before she was introduced in the last 10 minutes of the game as her team Apollon Ladies FC defeated Aris Limassol 5-0 in Limassol derby in the game played at Yermasoyia Stadium.

Nalukenge last played for Apollon Ladies in November 2022 and she has been out for 11 months due to a knee injury. Apollon Ladies will play Omonia Nicosia on Saturday 7th October in their next league game.

4- Sandra Nabweteme
Nabweteme played 90 minutes as her team Karadeniz Eregli W lost 0-1 to Hakkarigucu Spor W.

Nabweteme created over three clear chances that were wasted, her side also were denied four goals for offside and Nabweteme won a penalty for her team but the taker missed it and conceded in the last minutes of the game to lose the fourth game in the last five.

Her side Karadeniz Eregli W will host in-form Fomget GSK W on Sunday 08th October at 12PM in the next game.

5- Shiraz Natasha
The journey-lady Natasha netted a brace and registered three assists in KF Tirana’s 12-0 win over Lushnja to go second on the table on match day one. KF Tirana will visit Laci on Saturday 07th October in their next league game.

6- Viola Nambi
Crested Cranes forward Viola Nambi helped her team Pomilgiano as they shared spoils with Sassuolo in a 1-all draw in matchday two of Serie A.

7- Joan Nabirye
Crested Cranes workaholic midfielder scored once and played 90 minutes as her team FC Minsk W demolished Gomel 27-0 in the Belarus women’s league.

8- Vanessa Karungi
Custodian Karungi played the entire game and made a clean sheet as her side FC Nordsjælland beat Brøndby IF 3-0 to go top of the table. In the next game, FC Nordsjælland will host 8th position FC Thy – ThistedThy.

9- Ashiat Naluggwa
Lindsey edged Bulldgs 2-0 and striker Naluggwa assisted and netted the second goal, and it was her fourth in five games. The victory made history as it was Lindsey College’s 500th win the history.
