Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Uganda’s netball powerhouse, NIC, continued their winning streak at the East African Netball Club Championship with a resounding 45-21 victory over Tanzania’s JKT on Tuesaday.
This win secures their second consecutive triumph in the tournament and sets the stage for a highly anticipated championship match against fellow Ugandan team, Prisons, on Wednesday.
NIC displayed exceptional teamwork from the outset. Their starting seven, led by the sharpshooting Victo Nantumbwe at Goal Shooter and the defensive rock Privas Kayeny at Goal Keeper, controlled the court.
Nassimu Mutesi orchestrated the game’s tempo from Wing Defense, while Sandra Nambirige, Margret Bagala, and Racheal Nanyonga provided a dynamic attacking force. The potent combination of Nanyonga and Bagala proved particularly effective.
The strength of NIC extended beyond the starting lineup. Substitutes Aya Gloria, Zam Seera, Maureen Nankya, Filbas Namulema, and Shakira Nassara provided invaluable support throughout the match, ensuring a well-rounded performance.
