Ugandan Pool Players Storm Nairobi for Grand Mchana Open Championship

A total of 16 Ugandan pool players have stormed Nairobi, Kenya for the inaugural Grand Mchana open Championship that is scheduled to take place between 21-24 September at the Mchana Grill.

The event that will have winners in the men’s and women’s category scoop Kshs 750,000 and 200,000 respectively as prize money has attracted some of the very best from the continent.

Uganda’s Sula Matovu

Former national champion Sula Matovu, World BlackBall Pool champion Senzo Gumede from South Africa and Zimbabwe’s seasoned campaigner Christine Sengwe are some of the players that will headline this competition.

A total of eight contries including Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Uganda, South Sudan, South Africa, Lithuania and the hosts Kenya will be represented at this Championship.

And over 180 players will seek to become the inaugural winners.

The Ugandan contingent include, Mirembe William, Ndyagumanawe Amos, Sula Matovu, Kalema Paul, Kasozi Joseph, Bwanika Mansoor, Kayanja Ibra, Sejjemba Ibra, Wagaba Rashid, Chandiga Caesar, Kazibwe Ian, Sennyonjo Glorious, Ssebuguzi Habib, Odong Kenneth, Gumikiriza Alfred and Lubulwa Simon.

The traveling officials include Peter Kyobe (media attache) and Ismail Kalibbala (Tournament secretary).
