Ugandan youngster Ibrahim Kasule was handed his first game in the Major League Soccer at New York Red Bulls earlier on Thursday.
Having trained with the senior team for sometime, Kasule was finally given his chance as they fell 1-0 to New England Revolution.
He came on in the 64th minute for Dru Yearwood but couldn’t stir them past the defeat on enemy territory.

Kasule’s debut was a reward of his continued excellence in New York Red Bulls’ reserve team, New York Red Bulls 2 where he has scored 15 goals and made four assists in 23 matches.
He had initially scored twice earlier on the week as New York Red Bulls 2 edged Chicago Fire II 5-4, a game that also had Frank Ssebufu on the score-sheet.
On 15 goals, Kasule is the second topscorer in the reserve league (MLS Next Pro) behind New York City II player Mathew Meyrs, who is on 16 strikes.
Ibrahim Kasule’s New York Red Bulls is in the same league as World Cup champion and multiple Balon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi.
Kasule’s New York Red Bulls are 12th with 29 points, while Messi’s Inter Miami are 14th in the Eastern Conference.
