Uganda’s Women 3×3 senior basketball team, the Gazelles on Monday, departed for the Africa Beach Games in Hammamet in Morocco.
The team of four has three JKL Lady Dolphins players including Hope Akello, Leticia Awor and Agatha Kamwada.
UCU Lady Canons’ Shakira Nanvubya joins the trio, while UCU Coach Nicholas Natuhereza is also part of the travelling party.
The usual star-studded team of Sarah Ageno, Brenda Ekone, Zainah Lokwameri and Ritah Imanishimwe have, however, been dropped.
The second African Beach Games will be held for seven days on from June 23 to June 30th, 2023.
Meanwhile, the games will serve as qualifiers for the World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia, from 5 to 12 August 2023.
