Cricket Cranes captain Brian Masaba won the Player of the Match award for the first time at the East Africa Trophy T20 Cup as Uganda continued with their winning ways in Rwanda on Wednesday.

The skipper picked up three wickets to help the Cricket Cranes defend the 141/10 score they set.

Masaba was also of service with the bat as he turned out with 21 runs off 14 balls, but it was Ronak Patel who scored the most runs for Uganda. The top order batter recorded 45 off 34

Pascal Murungi who was promoted up the batting order to four in this game registered 17 while Simon Sessazi who opened with Roger Mukasa managed just 14.

Mukasa was dismissed (lbw) with only 8 runs to his name.

Kenneth Waiswa also mucked in with 12 runs before combining with wicket keeper Cyrus Kakuru to bundle out Kassim Chete in the Tanzanian innings.

David Wabwire had two wickets to his number while each of Jonathan Ssebanja, Alpesh Ramjani and Siraje Nsubuga also picked one.

This was Uganda’s 10th win at the event, and it keeps them on course of retaining the trophy they won last year.
