On a warm Wednesday evening at Crown Legacy FC’s home ground, a young Ugandan playmaker made history far from home.

With a hat trick that inspired a thrilling 5-2 away win for New York Red Bulls II, Ibrahim Kasule didn’t just secure three points, he cemented his legacy.

Kasule’s trio of goals not only dazzled spectators in the MLS NEXT Pro League but also pushed his total tally to 27 goals for Red Bulls II, making him the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

“Always Remember KASULE KI82,” the 21-year-old posted on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the final whistle, a statement of pride and permanence befitting the historic moment.

Since his arrival in 2023, Kasule has lit up American soccer with flair, precision, and an unrelenting drive to succeed. He made his debut for the club on April 9, 2023, against Columbus Crew 2.

Just over a year later, he stands atop the Red Bulls II scoring charts, surpassing former record-holder Brandon Allen, whose 24-goal benchmark had remained unchallenged until now.

Kasule had tied Allen’s record after scoring against Orlando City B earlier this season. But with his clinical display against Crown Legacy FC, he stepped out of the shadows and into the record books.

His debut season was nothing short of spectacular. Scoring 15 goals, the highest tally in a single campaign for the club, Kasule earned a spot in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI.

His consistency was further rewarded with MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month accolades in both July 2023 and March 2024.

Perhaps most impressively, Kasule shares another Red Bulls II record for scoring in seven consecutive matches between June 6 and July 31, 2023, a statement to both his form and mental strength.

And the accolades keep coming. On April 6, 2025, his stunning strike against Chicago Fire II earned him the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 4, further cementing his status as one of the league’s standout talents.

For Uganda, Kasule’s achievements carry immense pride. In a country with a growing passion for football, his success story abroad is inspiring a new generation.

His exploits with the Uganda Cranes have already made him a recognizable name back home, but his journey with Red Bulls II is writing an entirely new chapter, one that few would have predicted when he first stepped onto American soil.

Still early in his career as a 21-year-old, Ibrahim Kasule’s trajectory points steeply upward. With his blend of technical skill, football intelligence, and hunger for goals, the young midfielder is not just setting records, he’s setting standards.
