UMEA Solidarity Games receives sponsorship from Mavid Pharmaceuticals

It’s a few days before the UMEA Solidarity Games to take place at Namagabi SS, Kayunga from 17th to 21st April 2025.

The 2025 games have been beefed up with a 6 million sponsorship deal from Mavid Pharmaceuticals.

The funds issued on Monday, 14th April at the company’s offices located at Makay Road in Kampala have been allocated to be used on equipment and covering the opening ceremony.

As the opening ceremony is set for Friday, 17th April, over 150 teams from 60 schools have confirmed participation in the championship.

Speaking about the sponsorship games organiser, Hajj Twahir Kitezaala has commented.

“Here in Uganda, earning sponsorship is not always easy. Today we have earned one from Mavid Pharmaceutical, this money is allocated to a specific area and we will look forward to using the money on the exact cause.”

On the same cause, Dr Aisha Bukenya, who handed over the dummy check to UMEA games organiser, said;

“We are a pharmaceutical company and we are looking forward to engaging in projects which improve health and sport is one of the keys to improving health statuses.”

The partnership is aimed to go on for years to come with other improved offers in the pipeline.

The UMEA Solidarity games are aimed at promoting oneness among Islamic-based schools and preparing them for major school sports competitions.
