Uganda Muslims Education Association and Uganda Muslim Teachers Association today, March 12th, launched the UMEA Solidarity Games under the theme of Faith, Unity, and Excellence, which is aimed at uniting and improving the quality of work among Ugandans.
At the launch held at Kibuli SS, the chairman of the organizing committee of the games, Hajji Twahir Kitezaala, introduced, “It is our policy that every year we have our games under different themes.

This time our theme is Faith, Unity, and Excellence. We have chosen this theme because faith is important, but working together is a responsibility, and working to perfection is the major core of success.”
Our bosses, the head teachers of Islamic schools, chose this theme amidst laying the effort in regaining our country, which is moving astray.
We decided to use sports because it is the fastest way to reach out to the masses, and the theme of our games, UMEA Solidarity Games, is built on promoting unity.
This year’s competition will be held at Nkoma UMEA Secondary School in Mbale with 16 venues already past the inspection standards as the games are scheduled for April 3rd to 6th, with more than 70 schools expected to bring more than 2000 students to participate in the 2026 games.
Gombe SS are the champions of these games, winning four gold medals in Handball and Chess for both boys and girls.
Kibuli SS, Masaka SS, Greenlight Islamic, Kawempe Muslims, and Mbogo Mixed also performed well in the 2025 edition held at Namagabi SS in Kayunga.
The Secretary-General of the Uganda Muslims Education Association, Hajji Abubakar Kakembo, congratulated the organizers, students, and Islamic schools for keeping the games on the course that insisted on their start.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Muslim Teachers Association, Ajiri Namirembe, reminded the schools participating in the games that the aim of the games is not to win but to connect the nation and develop different cultures.
On the host side, Yusuf Ahmed announced readiness in every aspect and they are just warmly waiting to host the games that include Football, Volleyball, Handball, Mind games, Racket games all for boys and girls, while girls’ Netball will also be on the menu as the combat games set to return, having Judo on demonstration.
