- Kitara 0-1 Buhimba United
Newly promoted Buhimba United Saints continued their dream start to life in the top flight with a 1–0 victory over Kitara FC in a tense Bunyoro derby on Thursday at Royals Park, Butema.
It was a night to remember for Edson Agondeze, who punished his former club with the game’s only goal in the 83rd minute.
The striker headed home from close range after a teasing Maxwell Owachigui free kick caused confusion in the Kitara defence.
The first-ever top-flight meeting between the two Bunyoro rivals had Hoima buzzing with excitement.
Buhimba fielded six ex-Kitara players goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba, Owachigui, Ramathan Dudu, Eric Muber, Derrick Byabachwezi, and Agondeze, all of whom played vital roles in the win.
Kiyimba was particularly outstanding, pulling off several crucial saves to deny his former teammates and preserve the clean sheet.
The victory keeps Buhimba perfect this season with nine points from three games, sitting top of the table. Kitara, meanwhile, remain winless and 12th with just one point.
