2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Wednesday January 7 | MD 12

  • Calvary FC 0-1 BUL FC
  • Kitara FC 2-1 UPDF FC

BUL FC finally stopped the rot on Wednesday evening with an edgy 1–0 away win over bottom side Calvary FC at Midigo Primary School Grounds.

The result ended a five match losing streak and a seven game winless run for the Jinja outfit.

The victory also marked a positive return for head coach Alex Isabirye Musongola, who claimed his first win since coming back to the club for a third spell.

It was not a stylish display, but BUL showed grit and organisation when it mattered most.

Kick-off was briefly delayed due to the absence of an ambulance, but once play began, BUL settled quickly.

Their reward came in the ninth minute when Karim Ndugwa finished calmly from a Reagan Kalyowa assist to score what proved to be the match winner.

Calvary attempted to respond but found little joy against a disciplined BUL defence.

The visitors managed the game well, breaking up play and limiting clear chances.

Ndugwa continued to trouble the hosts before being withdrawn late, as BUL focused on seeing out the result.

The second half was scrappy, with frequent stoppages, fouls and tactical changes.

Calvary pushed forward in search of an equaliser but lacked the sharpness to break through, as BUL defended resolutely to the final whistle.

The win lifts BUL to 13 points and eighth on the Uganda Premier League table.

Calvary remain bottom with just three points, still without a win this season and yet to record a home victory.

Ndugwa was named Man of the Match after scoring the decisive first half goal.

Elsewhere, Kitara FC also returned to winning ways with a 2–1 home victory over UPDF at Royals’ Park in Butema.
