Warren Buule’s second half header earned NEC FC a hard fought 1-1 draw against Vipers SC at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Tuesday night.


Vipers started fast, and in the 7th minute, a sublime pass from Watambala found Milton Karisa, who calmly finished to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
NEC responded with early substitutions, bringing on Shamiru Kimwero and Dhata Joseph Stephen Lujang to boost midfield energy.
Despite several yellow cards disrupting play, NEC held firm and went into halftime trailing by a single goal.
The second half saw NEC push harder. A third substitution, Hakim Wandera replacing Ibrahim Kiyemba, helped spark the comeback.
In the 74th minute, Buule struck with precision to restore parity and quiet the home crowd. Both sides had chances afterward, but neither could find the winner.


The draw gives NEC four points from their last two games, keeping them 7th with 24 points. Vipers remain top with 38 points after their second consecutive draw.
Vipers host Lugazi FC on Wednesday, March 4, while NEC welcome UPDF FC a day earlier at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Elsewhere on Match Day 17, Entebbe UPPC edged Mbarara City FC 1-0 in Entebbe, and Buhimba United Saints fought to a 1-1 draw with Police FC in Butema.
